Today, the Government approved a proposal to sign a grant agreement amounting to €2.7 million for the implementation of accompanying activities of the program "Comprehensive Management of Water Resources (CMWR) / Akhuryan River, Phase 2" between the Republic of Armenia and the Reconstruction and Development Bank.
The project was presented by the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure, Suren Papikyan, who noted that an agreement is planned to be signed between Armenia and the Reconstruction and Development Bank for a grant of €2.7 million to fund the expert services for the aforementioned program's accompanying activities and mainly to pay for foreign exchange conversion costs.
“This will allow us to receive €18.5 million as per the agreement signed with KFW Bank for the construction of the Kapsi reservoir and certain rehabilitation works. This includes the rehabilitation of the Kumayri water pipeline, resulting in a pipeline capacity of 25 million cubic meters, and an additional 740 hectares of land will become irrigable,” said Papikyan.
