The One Who Betrayed Me on This Day and Destroyed Me Must Receive Just Punishment, My Family Has Been Destroyed: Victim of March 1 Case
During the hearing of the appeals of Robert Kocharyan and others at the Court of Appeals of Armenia, victims of the March 1 case, Suren Gevorgyan and Andranik Harutyunyan, gave statements before the defense team could present their objections, reports Armtimes.com.
Particularly, victim Gevorgyan stated in court that his entire family left Armenia after 2008. “The one who betrayed me and destroyed me on this day must receive just punishment, my family has been destroyed, I am the only one left. I remained alone; since 2008, my kin have fled from Armenia, I am the only one remaining. My biography is a sad situation: I ask the court for a fair trial; the criminal must be held accountable. I lived as a slave in Armenia, deprived of rights, there is so much turmoil in my soul, only God above knows. He destroyed my family; I wanted independence, was this my independence? I am tormented. Hundreds of families like mine have fled... Why did Robert Kocharyan consider my son an undesirable citizen and expel him?”
“I was crushed, my house was taken, my wife saw it and developed diabetes. This was the culmination of demanding my rights; I was demanding my rights from the homeland, my family was annihilated, and I was left alone. I only ask God for salvation for our nation; the same conspirators are here on March 1. Let us find justice in Armenia, but does a person's conscience allow them to destroy an Armenian in Armenia? Why come to destroy me, what have I done? They trample on me, crush me, hit me on the head. Mr. Judge, please have a little compassion,” the victim declared, later adding, “My child fled from the kingdom of Robert Kocharyan. He deserves just punishment,” said Gevorgyan, adding that he joins the complaints presented by the victims and prosecutors.
