The Oath Ceremony of the Newly Elected Constitutional Court Judge Will Take Place Today at the National Assembly

The newly elected judge of the Constitutional Court, Vahe Grigoryan, thanked those who sent congratulations and best wishes on his election via his Facebook page. He stated:

"I have not yet assumed the office of the Constitutional Court judge, as I needed time to send official notices regarding the suspension of my powers to represent clients in dozens of cases and proceedings in my jurisdiction and international courts until June 18. The judge of the Constitutional Court assumes office through an oath, the ceremony of which will be held on June 20 in the second half of the day during a session of the National Assembly, preceded by a brief address of my oath. I will immediately assume the position of the judge of the Constitutional Court with the oath and will commence the fulfillment of constitutional powers/responsibilities. From that moment on, my communication with the public will be in an official capacity, subject to all related restrictions."

Vahe Grigoryan was elected a member of the Constitutional Court on June 18 through a closed voting process in the National Assembly. 99 deputies voted in favor, while 22 were against.
