Surik Khachatryan's House on the Zoo Road is Not Registered, Says Sarchat Petrosyan

There are independent appraisers for market value. This was stated today, June 20, during a conversation with reporters by the head of the Real Estate Cadastre Committee, Sarchat Petrosyan, ArmDaily.am reports.

“We have conducted several evaluations across the territory of the republic, based on which we analyzed and obtained a new logic for valuations. The appraisal began a little before the revolution and was completed in October. As a result of our assessment, the market value in the center of Yerevan is higher than the value we have currently fixed,” Petrosyan said.

When asked about claims that prices are artificially inflated, Petrosyan stated that the prices are not yet approved; this was just a draft. However, if prices decrease in the market, they will adjust theirs as well. “We need to have accurate data. We must fix a general price so that the property in this area with these parameters is worth this much. Our daily work is to monitor what is happening in the market,” added Petrosyan.

During his work, he has encountered cases where properties were not registered, hence taxes have not been paid on them. Among those were former officials. The community should use its tools to force the individual to register their property.

To the question of how he would comment on the talks that there is a luxurious property on the zoo road belonging to former Syunik region governor Surik Khachatryan, Petrosyan responded, “Yes, this is true, and that property is still not registered with us.”
