Iran Claims Downing American Drone; U.S. Responds
The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed to have downed an American drone in the airspace of Hormozgan province in southern Iran. This was reported by the IRNA news agency.
The agency emphasized that the American-made RQ-4 Global Hawk drone had intruded into Iranian airspace. According to The Guardian, U.S. officials have denied this information, stating that no American aircraft were present in Iranian airspace during the specified timeframe. Captain Bill Urban, spokesperson for U.S. Central Command, declined to provide extensive comments, saying only, 'There has been no drone in Iranian airspace.'
