Arat Dink, Son of Hrant Dink, on Trial in Turkey
Arat Dink, the son of Hrant Dink, is facing charges in Turkey. He is accused of signing a document titled 'Peace Declaration,' which was published by intellectuals persecuted by Turkish authorities. This was reported by the publication Ermenihaber.
According to the indictment, the declaration's author is the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which is considered a terrorist organization in Turkey. Arat Dink faces a prison sentence of 1 to 5 years.
During the first court session, the defense demanded an acquittal and also submitted a petition for the disqualification of the judges, citing alleged bias. The court rejected both motions.
