Vahe Grigoryan to Shut Down His Facebook Page

Lawyer Vahe Grigoryan recently expressed his gratitude via his Facebook page for the congratulations and well-wishes he received concerning his election as a judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia. He also noted that he has not yet assumed the position of Constitutional Court judge, which he will do after the swearing-in ceremony scheduled for June 20.

“I have not yet assumed the office of judge of the Constitutional Court, as I needed time to send official notifications regarding the termination of my powers to represent clients in dozens of cases in my jurisdiction and at international courts as of June 18, 2019. A judge of the Constitutional Court takes office upon taking an oath, the ceremony of which will take place tomorrow, on June 20, in the second half of the day during a session of the National Assembly, preceded by my brief address during the oath-taking,” he wrote.

He also mentioned that he would immediately assume the position of Constitutional Court judge upon taking the oath and will embark on fulfilling constitutional duties and powers. From that moment on, his communication with the public will be in an official capacity, subject to all related restrictions. “Until then, and for the time being, I will maintain this page, but when considering another acceptable means of public communication within the framework of the freedom of expression for a high court judge, I will close or limit this page, notifying in advance about it,” he concluded.

Vahe Grigoryan was elected to the Constitutional Court by the National Assembly of Armenia yesterday, June 18.
