Video: Vahe Grigoryan Suspends His Participation in the March 1 Case

On the day of his oath as a newly appointed member of the Constitutional Court, Vahe Grigoryan stated that it is still unclear when he will take the oath, as he has pending cases in court that he needs to finalize. In a conversation with journalists after being elected to the Constitutional Court, Grigoryan responded to a question from SHANTNEWS.am about his involvement in approximately 80 cases at the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR). He noted that he has already withdrawn from a significant number of them.

“I have also requested the Speaker of the National Assembly to postpone my oath ceremony, so that before my swearing-in, I can inform not only the ECHR but also the Armenian state courts and the International Criminal Court about my withdrawal from their lists,” stated Grigoryan.

He further mentioned that other legal professionals, with whom he already has preliminary agreements, will handle these cases. “These agreements were preliminary, as the official results had not yet been announced,” Grigoryan added.

Vahe Grigoryan also noted that he has applied to the court to suspend his participation in the March 1 case. The involvement of other representatives is expected to be scheduled in the coming days.
