Judges No Longer Make Friends: Vahe Grigoryan on His Relationships with Allies
The National Assembly is currently discussing Vahe Grigoryan's candidacy for a position on the Constitutional Court. MP Tatevik Grigoryan from the 'My Step' faction asked the candidate if he feels a significant difference in value systems compared to the current situation in the Constitutional Court and how he envisions his first steps in addressing this complex situation.
“There is a difference, of course; there are people from different generations there. I believe that no matter how significant the difference is, I do not intend to make unfounded criticisms against the court in this hall. And although our differences are substantial, I think there are issues that need resolution. The model of the court that I presented, I believe, will become a reality in the near future,” Vahe Grigoryan said.
Later, the 'My Step' MP asked Grigoryan to reaffirm the expression, “Plato is my friend, but truth is more precious,” referring to Grigoryan's friendships with certain MPs from the 'My Step' faction.
Grigoryan did not deny having friends in 'My Step' as well as in various teams. “Regardless of whether they are my friends or not, from the moment I take the judicial oath and become a judge, judges no longer make friends,” he stated.
