‘Hraparak’. It is Known Who Will Resign Next in Artsakh

‘Hraparak’ newspaper writes: ‘The phased “change of power” program in the Artsakh army is underway. It was revealed yesterday that Major General Vardan Balayan has been relieved of his duties as Deputy Commander of the Defense Army of the Republic of Artsakh and has been discharged from military service, citing his transition to a long-term military pension.

However, according to some reports, the 30-year military veteran is leaving the system not so much to enjoy his earned rest but rather out of necessity. The next to go will be the other deputy commander of the Defense Army, Garik Safaryan, whose departure will also be explained by health issues, which we had reported about two months ago. Moreover, the dismissal of some representatives of the Artsakh general staff is a demand from the Armenian authorities, and this is being done without objection by the leadership of Artsakh, in order to avoid unnecessary tension in Artsakh-Armenia relations.

After Levon Mnatsakanyan, the well-known Oganovsky has left, yesterday Balayan, and next in line are those with a professional military reputation, such as Slavik Danielyan, Deputy Commander Boris Davidov responsible for the rear of the Defense Army, and others.’
