Gagik Tsarukyan Responds to Notification from Anti-Corruption Committee
MP Gagik Tsarukyan has responded to a notification from the Anti-Corruption Committee through his lawyer. He made this statement today in the National Assembly and expressed surprise at the question of why he tore up the notification.
"So when I receive the notification, should I put it in a frame and hang it on the wall? ... Wouldn't they accept it without the notification if I went there?" Tsarukyan said.
The MP cited the Constitution and pointed out that according to Article 96, a member of parliament can express their opinion and is not constrained in that case.
He then answered another question regarding the notification. "The notification should not have been placed in a frame and hung next to a painting by Aivazovsky ...," Tsarukyan left his thought unfinished after another question from journalists.
It should be noted that the regular four-day session of the National Assembly has commenced. Currently, the question of selecting a candidate for the Constitutional Court judge is being discussed. Vahe Grigoryan has been nominated for this position.
