I Am Just Happy That Something Is Moving Forward: Levon Kocharyan on the March 1 Case
Levon Kocharyan, the son of the second President of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan, addressed the ongoing process of uncovering the March 1 events during a discussion with journalists today, as reported by Shantnews.am.
In response to a question about whether he feels uncomfortable with the association of the March 1 events with his father's name, he stated, "I feel very bad; I feel bad that this is not the reality, people have been misled. This is a specific aim pursued by those circles that have deceived people, essentially using the grief of people for some objectives."
He reminded that Robert Kocharyan served for about 40 days after the events of March 1 until April 9 and when asked why his father did not reveal the circumstances of those events during that period, he responded, "Should everything have been uncovered in 40 days? What do you think, under those circumstances? I don't think so. When something is stolen from a store, it can take months to uncover it."
Levon Kocharyan emphasized that it is unfortunate that some matters are still pending, and people’s doubts remain unresolved, leading to ongoing speculation.
He believes that it would be good to clarify the March 1 events. "I am just happy that something is moving forward," he added. He also stressed that the first interested parties are themselves in having the murders uncovered.
