Severe Flooding in Ankara

Heavy rainfall in Turkey's Ankara province has led to severe flooding. The Ankara governor's office reports that there are already 3 fatalities, one of whom is a woman. Dozens of vehicles have been submerged, and several streets have been closed, according to Ermenihaber.

The highest rainfall has been recorded in the Çankaya and Etimesgut districts. In response, rescue teams and a large number of equipment have been deployed by the Turkish government's Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) and the Ankara municipality.

Newly elected Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş has made a statement regarding the situation. He stated that the spread of the flooding is attributed to infrastructure issues in Ankara. The flooding has also caused damage to several buildings.
