According to preliminary information, the head inspector solicited and received large sums of money as bribes from several business entities operating in Gyumri between 2013 and 2019, which were either not registered with tax authorities or had not duly fulfilled their tax obligations, in exchange for not documenting their illegal activities.

A criminal case has been initiated concerning the apparent offenses, which has been forwarded to the Investigative Committee for further investigation.

Note: The suspect or accused in the alleged crime is considered innocent until proven guilty in accordance with the procedures established by the Criminal Procedure Code of Armenia, by a legal and enforceable court decision.
