Arthur Vanetsyan Speaks on Groups of People in Black: 'They Are Trying to Say Things Out of Context. The Humor Is Inappropriate'
Arthur Vanetsyan, the director of the National Security Service (NSS), stated today during a conversation with reporters that he does not believe the Prime Minister made a scandalous statement, and he disagrees with that notion.
"If you listened carefully to the statement, the Prime Minister did not give any directive regarding the individuals making anti-government speeches. A clear directive has been given, and the police, as well as the NSS, have been carrying out respective activities in these two days. I simply cannot provide any other commentary on this," he said.
In response to the question of whether the circle of individuals in black is known, Vanetsyan replied that the circle is clear to them. "There are people who promote hatred and advocate the use of force. If there are specific cases, all the powers given to us by law will be implemented against those individuals to isolate them from society," the NSS director stated.
When a reporter asked whether all individuals in black should be isolated, Vanetsyan considered the comment inappropriate. "They are trying to say things out of context. There is nothing like that. What exists is well understood by everyone. There is no need to seek sensations through wordplay. The framework will open up when there are individuals who commit certain actions and are subject to detention. If there is a crime, a criminal case will be launched, and everyone will be informed about it," the NSS director noted.
When asked if the members of the 'Adequate' team, who have recently appeared in black clothing and made anti-government calls, might be the ones the Prime Minister was referring to, Vanetsyan replied that he does not know whom he is talking about. "There will be specific cases, and there will be specific actions by law enforcement," he added.
