Wolves Attack Sheep in Two Farms in Lori Province
An extraordinary incident occurred today, June 5, in Lori Province. Between midnight and 1:00 AM, a resident of the village of Akhori heard barking and, upon stepping outside, noticed some animal fleeing. Without suspecting anything, he went back inside his house.
However, in the morning, when he went to the barn, he discovered that out of 35 sheep, 13 had been harmed by wolves, and one had been killed. It also turned out that during the same timeframe, wolves had entered a neighboring barn, where they killed 10 out of 35 sheep and completely consumed one.
In an interview with SHAMSHYAN.com, the affected farmers stated that the damages caused by the wolves accounted for their entire annual income.
They also reported that the village veterinarian examined the injured sheep and determined that their meat was no longer suitable for consumption, rendering them unfit for slaughter and sale. “Even the animals kept in the zoo do not accept this meat as food due to its unfit condition,” the farmers said.
