No Intent to Damage the Statue, According to Police
Rumors have circulated on social media that the newly installed bronze statue in the capital's recently opened park had been damaged. In response to various speculations raised by publications, the police conducted checks, reviewed recordings from the area’s surveillance cameras, and investigated whether any intentional damage to property had occurred. They also interviewed a staff member responsible for the park's technical maintenance.
The staff member stated that the park's manager informed him that the statue's arm had been damaged. They have since moved the statue for restoration.
Through the review of video footage, it was found that children had repeatedly played near the statue, climbing on it, and it is possible that the arm could have been damaged accidentally by the children’s interactions. The surveillance cameras recorded the children playing near the statue. The footage confirmed that there was no intent to damage the statue on their part. This was also announced by the director of the Vardanyan Family Charity Fund.
