PHOTO: Attempted Murder of Ex-Wife and Her Relatives - Details from Noramarg Incident
The Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia has opened a criminal case regarding an attempted murder carried out by a 60-year-old man against residents of Noramarg village in the Ararat region.
On May 30, 2019, at approximately 15:25, the police received a report from the ambulance service of Masis Medical Center about individuals suffering from gunshot wounds in Noramarg village.
Preliminary data indicates that on May 30, 2019, around 15:00, a resident of Yerevan, born in 1959, argued with his ex-wife and her husband over domestic issues at one of the houses in Noramarg village. During the argument, the 60-year-old hurled two grenades towards his ex-wife, her husband, and other family members, including a child born in 2015. They were subsequently hospitalized due to injuries sustained from the explosion.
A criminal case has been initiated at the Masis investigative division of the Ararat regional investigative department under Article 34–104, parts 1 and 6 of the RA Criminal Code.
On the same day, it was reported from the medical center that the current husband of the woman, also born in 1959, succumbed to injuries while in the medical facility.
Immediate investigative and other procedural actions are underway regarding the criminal case. During a search at the residence of the suspect, two grenades were discovered.
The preliminary investigation continues. Operational-search measures are being undertaken to locate the 60-year-old suspect and present him to the prosecuting body.
