New Developments in Assault Case Involving Governor's Brother

On May 17, it became known that Ruben Petrosyan, the brother of Kotayk Governor Romanos Petrosyan, assaulted Gevorg Hovhannisyan, the director of "Iravunq's Sahan" LLC, aged 40, reports AmrLur.am.

A week ago, we spoke with the governor regarding the issue, who stated that this was a political provocation aimed at his activities. The young man approached my brother and insulted us in a very disrespectful tone. My brother understood who this person was, as this citizen had visited the Abovyan office of the ruling party several times, met with me, expressed a desire to join our team, and later we understood that he had come with expectations of holding a position, which could not become a reality. This individual has repeatedly written to the Prime Minister's office about my activities," the governor mentioned.

Nevertheless, the investigative body has taken explanations from both the governor's brother and Gevorg Hovhannisyan, and provided a referral for a forensic examination.

As a result, it became known yesterday that on May 24, the investigative body initiated a criminal case under Article 118 of the RA Criminal Code (assault) and sent it to the RA Investigative Committee. However, it should be noted that there are currently no suspects.
