Dispute Arising from Financial Clarifications, Says Vanetsyan

After the government meeting, the Director of the National Security Service, Arthur Vanetsyan, addressed the release of former Deputy Director Arzumanyan Harutyunyan during a conversation with journalists. He specifically stated that Harutyunyan had served in national security agencies for over 35 years and requested his release in connection with his long service, which was granted.

When asked about the attack on the vehicle of supporters of Samvel Babayan, and whether the NSS was investigating the incident, Vanetsyan responded, "The NSS is dealing with this case. The case is fully revealed. The scope is clear. There is no need to look for conspiracy or some sort of plot. This is a dispute that arose from clarifications of financial matters between two groups of individuals. There will be a statement in the coming hours regarding the joint work of the police and the NSS, and all details will be made known to you."

It is noteworthy that last night, the office of former Artsakh Defense Army commander and national hero Samvel Babayan issued a statement, claiming that on the night of May 29, around 3:30 AM, Babayan's supporters and comrades were blocked on the Sevan-Marduni highway, and gunfire was directed at them.

According to Babayan's office, "these bandits, along with their bosses, serve the former Prime Minister of Artsakh, and now presidential candidate, Araik Harutyunyan of the 'Free Homeland' party."

"If law enforcement agencies do not pursue the clarification of this matter, then we will be forced to use the same methods and respond in kind, as there is no other alternative," warned the office of the former Minister of Defense of Artsakh.
