Parliamentary Agenda Not Approved Due to Lack of Quorum
The agenda for the regular session of the National Assembly of Armenia scheduled for May 29, 2019, was not approved due to a lack of quorum. After approximately 1.5 hours of mandatory discussions on the presented questions, the issue of voting on the second part of the agenda proposals was put to a vote, receiving 61 votes in favor. It is important to note that a majority of 66 votes was required to approve the larger agenda.
The secretariat hinted that the agenda had not been approved and that they would attempt to put it to a vote again after the break. At this moment, there is a break in the parliament.
During a conversation with reporters, Edmond Marukyan, the leader of the LHK faction, stated that the agenda could not be put to a vote again, indicating that the sessions should not take place. However, the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, mentioned that the issue would be presented for voting again after the break.
