Man Sold Owl Caught from the Forest for 10,000 Dram

Recently, the environmental website "Econews.am" published an article titled "Alert: Predatory Birds Caught from the Wild Sold Freely," which reported that Mher Aghajanyan from Alaverdi was selling an owl for 10,000 dram and claimed he had caught it from the forests.

During the preparation of materials, thanks to operational and investigative measures taken the same day, Mher Aghajanyan was summoned to the police station, where he explained that on May 22, around 12:00 PM, he discovered two nestlings fallen from the nest of a bird under a "Kiparis" tree in his yard. He caught them and posted an advertisement for their sale on a website registered in his name, setting the price for each nestling at 10,000 dram. However, on May 24, after reading discussions by the "Armenian Environmental Front" group regarding his advertisement, he realized the seriousness of his actions and released the nestlings back into nature the same day, filming the process with his mobile phone. Materials are being prepared.
