Hrayr Tovmasyan Has the Opportunity to Prove His Links to the Former Authority, Simonian

Hrayr Tovmasyan now has the opportunity to prove how connected he is to the former authorities and how much to the law of the Republic of Armenia. This was stated today, on May 28, during a conversation with journalists at the Sardarapat Memorial Complex by the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonian.

“Now we will see his activities. We will see what decision he makes, because the bearers of power are the people of Armenia. If a decision is made that angers at least a large part of the people, pushing them to the streets, it means that the judicial system is not serving the people of Armenia,” he said.

Alen Simonian noted that the entire judicial system was created to serve the former authorities. “You, journalists, have spoken many times about political prisoners, and there have been instances of violence against journalists. The judicial system, which has acted with impunity, is now causing problems for the elected authorities, and the authorities are trying to adjust this system as well.

The people are right when they say, ‘You do not call the judges, others do.’ This will not happen. Neither we will call, nor will anyone be allowed to call,” said the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly.
