Azerbaijani Hackers' Holiday Gift to Armenia: Over 2000 Facebook Passwords Compromised

On the occasion of Republic Day, Azerbaijani hackers launched an attack on the Facebook accounts of Armenian users. This was reported by information security expert Samvel Martirosyan.

“Dear compatriots. Azerbaijani hackers carried out an attack dedicated to today and have published over 2,000 Armenian Facebook logins and passwords. Many have not yet been cracked, so you still have time to change your password quickly if you are on this list. I have naturally deleted my passwords. There are also many repeated ones. It’s a hassle to clean it halfway through—it’ll keep piling up. 😅

  1. To find your login, use Ctrl F to search.
  2. If you used the same password elsewhere, change it there too.
  3. Most notably, you will find users from mail.ru. Don’t be surprised—mail.ru is predominantly used in Armenia, and they often target these individuals.
  4. Understand that you need to find and change them quickly before they break in.
  5. If you have already been hacked, log out of Facebook and go to facebook.com/hacked to attempt recovery.
  6. Do not click on links sent in emails.
”, wrote Martirosyan.
