When 9th Graders Will Be Able to Retake the Armenian Language Exam
The Assessment and Testing Center (ATC) conducted the largest exam in its history on May 26. This concerns the 9th grade centralized final exam in "Armenian Language," reports Armtimes.com.
Traditionally, the unified exams are attended by around ten thousand applicants across various subjects and days, but in this case, the number of elementary school graduates is about 32,000, whose knowledge was tested in a single day.
The exam took place in 251 examination centers, with 174 located in the provinces and 77 in Yerevan. Everything seemed to go smoothly. The students were transported to the examination center and then returned without any obstacles. Additionally, there were no issues regarding the movement of all adults involved in the examination process, including organizers, inspectors, and representatives from the ATC. The heads of the examination centers received the examination materials from the Assessment and Testing Center in the morning, took them to the centers, and after the exam and the corresponding part of the test were checked, brought them back to the ATC. In the provinces, the examination materials were taken to bank vaults the day before and stored there. On the morning of May 26, the heads of the regional examination centers received them and transferred them to the examination centers, later returning them to the Assessment and Testing Center in the late evening. Currently, the examination materials and answer sheets are being processed,” said Khachanyush Grigoryan, spokesperson for the ATC, in an interview with Armenian Time.
Students who were absent will have two opportunities to retake the exam. However, unlike the main session, these will not be organized centrally; each student will retake the exam at their school.
“For the absence to be considered valid and to retake the exam, no documents or medical certificates are needed. A person simply did not come; they have the opportunity to retake the exam from July 2-8. If necessary, they can retake it for the second time from August 20-30,” the spokesperson for the ATC informed.
