Final Bell: How Many Graduates Exist and Which Subjects are State Exams Held?

Today marks the final bell. How many graduates are there, and in which subjects will they take state examinations?

The Statistical Department of the National Center for Educational Technologies informed SHANTNEWS.am that this year the final bell will ring in 1,409 state and non-state general education schools in the Republic of Armenia.

From the NCE, it was reported that during the 2018-2019 academic year, a total of 18,996 students from the 12th grade and 32,198 students from the 9th grade will graduate from state and non-state schools in Armenia.

It is noteworthy that the numbers are quite similar to the previous academic year, 2017-2018, when 18,749 students graduated from the 12th grade and 29,362 students from the 9th grade.

After the final bell, 9th and 12th grade graduates will take state final exams.

For 12th grade graduates, the state final examinations are scheduled in the following subjects:

  1. Armenian Language and Literature,
  2. Mathematics,
  3. Natural Sciences (optional: Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology),
  4. History of Armenia,
  5. Foreign Language (English, French, German, etc.),
  6. Russian Language,
  7. Physical Education.

For 9th grade graduates, the state final examinations are:

  1. Armenian Language and Armenian Literature,
  2. Mathematics,
  3. Foreign Language (English, French, Spanish, etc.),
  4. History of Armenia,
  5. Natural Sciences (optional: Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Biology).
