Fake Medical Documents Presented to Avoid Draft; One of Two Young Men Arrested

The personnel of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Military Police of the Republic of Armenia, adhering to their adopted policy and zero tolerance towards corruption, have uncovered two cases of falsifying and using medical documents to evade the latest military draft.

According to the Military Police, citizens G.A. and V.M. acquired diagnoses that were evidently inconsistent with their health status, and knowing that these were fake documents, submitted them to the Central Medical Commission. As a result, they were declared unfit for military service and registered in the reserves, thus evading the regular military draft.

Several employees from the respective military commissariat, medical institutions, and the Central Medical Commission have been summoned for questioning.

In connection with the incident, two criminal cases have been initiated at the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Armenia under Article 325, Part 1 (falsifying, selling, or using documents, seals, stamps, forms, or vehicle registration plates), Article 327, Part 2, Clause 2 (evasion from mandatory military or alternative service, training camps, or mobilizations), and Article 376, Part 1 (negligence towards duty) of the Criminal Code. Urgent investigative actions have been carried out.

Citizen G.A. has been arrested.
