100,000 Cans of Sig Fish Exported: A. Ghazaryan Speaks on Reasons for Resignation
Aizer Ghazaryan submitted his resignation as Deputy Minister of Environment yesterday, stating that he rejects the inertia of the "previous" management system. The newspaper "Joghourt" spoke with Aizer Ghazaryan to uncover the deficiencies and violations he encountered during his time in the ministry.
“The deplorable condition of the coastal areas of Lake Sevan, even the mapping related to those areas... Funds have been wasted on several different programs, writing down areas that should not be submerged, taking the money, and cutting down the forest,” he stated.
Interestingly, Ghazaryan revealed that despite the official ban on the export of sig fish in recent years, sig canned goods have been exported from Armenia, while the Ministry of Environment remained silent. According to Ghazaryan, a significant amount of canned goods left Armenia in 2018 and early 2019 – specifically, 100,000 cans.
