Details from the Heated Meeting of 'My Step' Faction

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that during a 3-hour meeting of the 'My Step' faction held the day before, the members discussed their behavior regarding the transitional justice hearings scheduled for Friday, their messages, and arranged the list of speakers, including Vladimir Vardanyan, Kristine Poghosyan, Arpi Davoyan, and Hamazasp Danielyan.

It was suggested that the speakers emphasize that all judges will be held accountable, and the National Assembly should also address this issue.

A heated discussion took place regarding Kocharian's detention, with calls to eliminate him. The main theme was that Kocharian is an evil that must be removed. The speeches were mostly emotional and not legal in nature. Edgar Arakelyan stated that Kocharian should not be acknowledged at all and should be 'destroyed' through a boycott, Arman Yeghoyan asserted that 'he must be crushed and passed over,' and Mikayel Zolyan questioned, 'If they keep saying he will return, where will he return to?' Everyone was in a nervous state and acknowledged that 'the situation is tense.'

The discussions about the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Judicial Council were no less heated. Heriknaz Tigranyan, Gayane Abrahamyan, and Maria Karapetyan insisted that 'we wouldn't have this issue if the Minister of Justice had accepted our proposed package.'

Tigranyan remarked, 'We said a thousand times that the Supreme Judicial Council and the Constitutional Court should be dissolved, why haven’t they been dissolved?' and read the transitional provisions of the Constitution that grant the National Assembly the right to dissolve these bodies. The topic did not end with Zeynalyan; the question was raised as to what the minister is doing and why no laws are being brought to the National Assembly, asking, 'Why do we have to write these laws? We are political figures.'

They even discussed the possibility of changing the minister and the 'inactivity' of the executive branch. Only the faction secretary, Hakob Simidian, objected, saying, 'I can list ten times more shortcomings of the government, but now is not the time for that.' Varazdat Karapetyan pointed out, 'You talk about the inaction of the executive, but we are also not meeting public expectations and are working very slowly.'
