Against Eve's Race: Gender Policy Draft Fails in Armenia

The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that the draft resolution of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of Armenia, which was circulated on the e-draft.am website, has not succeeded.

According to the information from "Hraparak," 18 individuals voted on the draft resolution titled "About Establishing the Strategy and Program of Measures for the Implementation of Gender Policy in Armenia for 2019-2023." Of these, 4 voted in favor, while 14 voted against.

It should be noted that the draft highlights five priority directions: the implementation of the national mechanism for the advancement of women, equal participation of women and men in governance and decision-making processes, overcoming gender discrimination in the socio-economic sphere, expanding economic opportunities for women, and ensuring full and effective participation of women and men with equal opportunities in education and science, as well as expanding equal opportunities for women and men in the health sector and preventing gender discrimination.

We want to believe that those who voted against were not men.
