Tragic Car Accident in Kapan: Collision Between Ministry of Defense GAZ 66 and Ford, Resulting in 1 Fatality and 2 Military Injuries

On May 21, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Syunik province. Around 12:40 PM, on the 82 km section of the Megrik-Yerevan highway, within the administrative area of Kapan, a collision took place between a Ford vehicle with the license plate 34 RO 666 and a GAZ 66 vehicle belonging to the Ministry of Defense with the license plate 8554 SH.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, one person was pronounced dead at the scene, and three individuals suffering from injuries were transported to the Kapan Medical Center. A criminal case has been initiated.

The police and the investigative department are working to establish the identities of the drivers, the deceased, and the injured. According to G. Shamshyan's reports, the deceased was identified as 23-year-old Artsvik Voskanian, while two of the injured are servicemen of the RA Ministry of Defense.
