Armenian Ministry of Health Receives Grant for Introduction of Gardasil 4 Vaccine

'Joqoport' newspaper reports: The uproar surrounding the use of the Gardasil 4 vaccine continues unabated. Professional opinions have divided into two camps: the Ministry of Health insists on the effectiveness and usefulness of Gardasil 4, while the second group, the 'National Coalition of Doctors,' holds an opposing view.

Meanwhile, just days ago, a discussion regarding the Gardasil 4 vaccine took place at the Permanent Committee on Health and Social Issues of the National Assembly. It was revealed that the Ministry has received a grant for the introduction of the Gardasil 4 vaccine; this admission was made by Gayane Sahakyan, a representative of the Ministry of Health.

The grant amounts to $203,000. Half of the Gardasil 4 batch will expire in 5 months. Essentially, they are forced to administer it before October 2019, while the other half will expire in April 2020,' stated doctor Marina Khachatryan, adding that this year, the age threshold for women eligible for vaccination has been raised to 45 in order to consume the received vaccine.
