Arsenal May Travel to Azerbaijan Without Henrikh Mkhitaryan
For security reasons, London’s Arsenal may travel to Azerbaijan without Henrikh Mkhitaryan, reports Rusarminfo.
“Last week, UEFA requested security guarantees for Mkhitaryan due to political tension between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and negotiations are ongoing. Arsenal’s decision will be announced at the beginning of next week; however, the team is not optimistic about this matter,” reports the British publication The Guardian.
According to The Guardian, both Henrikh Mkhitaryan and the club are disappointed. Furthermore, Arsenal does not intend to boycott the final match, which, if won, would secure the team a place in the Champions League.
Earlier, it was reported that Henrikh Mkhitaryan, a midfielder for London’s Arsenal and the Armenian national team, could miss the Europa League final against Chelsea, set to take place on May 29 in Baku. The British Daily Mail states that Mkhitaryan may not travel to Baku due to political reasons.
