If Khurshudyan were deprived of medals, the Federation would receive that information - Pashik Alaverdyan

I have no information regarding the deprivation of all medals won by Hripsime Khurshudyan after 2008. This was stated by Pashik Alaverdyan, the General Secretary of the Armenian Weightlifting Federation and head coach of the men's national team, in a conversation with a NEWS.am Sport correspondent.

“If Hripsime Khurshudyan were deprived of medals, the federation would receive an official notification about it. If that were the case, then the Olympic champion of Rio 2016 in the 105 kg weight category, Ruslan Nurudinov, should also be disqualified, and his name should be mentioned. In this case, Simon Martirosyan would have become the Olympic champion. The international federation would have informed us about this. We do not have such information,” said Pashik Alaverdyan.

According to the database on the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation, the results recorded for the competitions held from 2008 to 2016 indicate that Hripsime Khurshudyan, the 2016 European champion, is currently marked as disqualified for her participation.
