BMW Crashes into Iron Barriers in Kotayk Province

Today, on May 13, a major traffic accident occurred in Kotayk Province. At around 1:40 PM, the driver of a BMW car with the license plate 11 TT 484 veered into the opposite lane on the 1st km section of the Yeghvard-Arshatak highway and crashed into iron barriers.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, the driver was promptly transported to the 'Nairi' medical center in Yeghvard by the police officers from the Yeghvard police department who arrived at the scene for medical examination.

Shamshyan.com reports that rescuers deactivated the vehicle and stopped the fuel leak since the gas tank was damaged due to the impact, spilling gasoline. They then cordoned off the area.

The photojournalist notes that while the Yeghvard police were preparing to take the injured to the hospital, assistance was provided on-site by the Yeghvard firefighters and police. He also informs that the driver miraculously survived as he was trapped in the iron barriers, requiring special equipment for his rescue.
