Video: I Have a Strong Need to Fight Against My Own Weight - Pashinyan
The traffic in Yerevan is not very accommodating for cyclists, and with this experience, I hope that we will be able to create better conditions for our cyclists in the city and the country. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a live broadcast on Facebook while en route to the government summer residence on a bicycle.
During the broadcast, Pashinyan urged cyclists to always wear helmets: “This morning I made the same mistake as last time. I forgot to wear my helmet, which was very bad. I ask all cyclists to not ride without a helmet.”
The Prime Minister noted that cycling rules are not very clear, “but it is very important that the number of bicycles and those following a healthy lifestyle increases in our city.”
He also mentioned that he is trying to fight against his excess weight: “All of this is not only aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle or cycling but also because I have a strong need to fight against my own weight.”
He said that riding a bicycle from the government building to the government summer residences, a distance of four kilometers, is very pleasant, but it complicates the work of the security staff. Still, he hopes they will approach it with understanding.
It is noteworthy that today, on the morning of May 10, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan rode his bicycle from the government residence to work and later headed to an area adjacent to the Yerevan City Hall to participate in the opening ceremony of the Yerevan 2800th Anniversary Park.
