Nikol Pashinyan is a Pro-Armenian Figure: Edmon Marukyan in ‘Hraparak’
'Hraparak' newspaper writes: 'Nikol Pashinyan will participate in the 10th anniversary session of the EU Neighborhood Program in Brussels on May 13, where the EU-Azerbaijani comprehensive agreement is expected to be signed. Armenian expert circles have serious concerns that the three critical Helsinki principles related to the Nagorno-Karabakh issue will not be mentioned in the preamble of the agreement, which is present in the agreement signed with Armenia.'
We asked Edmon Marukyan if the political forces of the National Assembly, particularly 'Enlightened Armenia,' have such concerns. 'As far as I can tell, as much as I follow this process, I believe that our Foreign Ministry, the Brussels embassy, and the diplomatic corps should have done serious work to ensure that the provisions related to Artsakh in the agreements do not differ, but I do not have information on whether they differ in the final version or not.'
Do you think such work has been done on the Armenian side, given that there has been no sound or signal regarding this? 'Mainly, such work is conducted quietly.' And if the experts' doubts materialize... 'I hope that it will not be so; otherwise, it will be a deep fiasco for our diplomatic services.' And does the LHK agree with Russian experts that Pashinyan is 'pro-American'? 'Nikol Pashinyan is a pro-Armenian figure: he is neither pro-American nor pro-Russian.'
