As an Armenian, Mkhitaryan Has No Business in Baku, He Should Come as an Athlete: Azerbaijani Athlete

Armsport reports that Gara Garayev, a midfielder for the Azerbaijani team 'Karabakh', expressed his opinion in an interview with azerisport.com, stating that Arsenal midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan can only come to Baku in the capacity of an athlete.

It is worth reminding that the Europa League final match between Arsenal and Chelsea will take place at Baku's Olympic Stadium, and it remains unknown whether the Armenian national team's midfielder will participate in the game scheduled for May 29.

“I will be cheering for Arsenal in the Europa League final. I have fond memories of our encounters with the London team. Our fans warmly welcomed Arsenal, and they were hospitable to us during the away game. This made me support them in this edition of the Europa League,” Garayev said.

“I would not mind if Henrikh Mkhitaryan comes to Baku, but he should come as an athlete. As an Armenian, he has no business here; as an athlete, he should come to the final,” Garayev concluded.
