Video: Are You Going to Be the Commander of Imaginary Forces? Ashotyan to Pashinyan
Today, Nikol Pashinyan made two dangerous statements that went unnoticed by the press. This was announced by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, during the launch of new courses at the party's Andranik Margaryan Political School on May 8.
“The first statement was the following: a person who is the leader of a country in a semi-war situation, a person who represents the second Armenian state in negotiations, today spoke about Armenia's security guarantees, saying: ‘Armenia's positive image is the best guarantee of Armenia's security.’
So the army is nothing, the soldier is nothing, our graduates forged on the battlefield are nothing, the economy and society, education, and culture are nothing. According to Nikol Pashinyan, today the guarantor of Armenia's security is Armenia’s positive image?” Ashotyan stated, adding that if this press conference had occurred on April 1, he would have categorized this statement as an unfortunate joke. “But he makes such a statement while being a potential supreme commander. In case of war, are you going to be the commander of imaginary forces, or of Facebook activists?” he asked.
Ashotyan also pointed out the second dangerous statement made by Pashinyan, which suggested that if he were in public, many questions would be resolved much more easily than from the Prime Minister's cabinet.
“What questions do you want to resolve that the status of Prime Minister and the obligations and powers defined by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Armenia do not satisfy you? Do you want to resolve questions again through the streets? Even as Prime Minister, you cannot manage the state. You dream of being in public and shutting the mouths of political opponents on the street,” he said, adding that if Pashinyan worked as much as he speaks, he could have fulfilled at least some of the astronomical promises within a year.
