Under What Circumstances Will Tsarukyan Resign His Mandate?

"There must be acquaintances, connections, trust, and belief because every project and investment relies on acquaintance and trust," said the head of the Prosperous Armenia faction, Gagik Tsarukyan, in a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly today, responding to the observation that there is no need for business to be protected by politics, as the government claims. According to Tsarukyan, that doesn't matter; there must still be connections.

Addressing the question of whether the President of the National Assembly, Ararat Mirzoyan, will acknowledge Tsarukyan's statement about not being engaged in entrepreneurial activities and whether the issue will be closed, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia party replied that his answer is fully presented for everyone.

"Not only Mr. Mirzoyan but the whole public, for the applicants who are baseless, my answer, both politically and legally, is fully, at a high level presented. Such talks harm the state, the trust of investors in the people, this baseless tension of 15 days has nothing in it. Yes, Tsarukyan has handed over management, everyone knows that, Tsarukyan has not been going to organizations for years, and it affects that today the investors who have agreements with Tsarukyan, 12-18 investors, already have concerns that someone might wake up from their sleep and make a baseless statement. The investor must be confident, valued, and have faith. Such petty talks, or maybe someone had a bad sleep, I don't know what dream they saw, maybe they will wake up and make a baseless conclusion. I don't want to justify myself; I love my country and want our country to develop, bloom, and have investments," Tsarukyan stated.

In a conversation with reporters, Gagik Tsarukyan said he does not plan to resign from his mandate and will do so when he envisions the country having smiles on everyone's face.

"Tsarukyan's mandate... has already solved all the problems of the country, let's say he has made investments, the situation of the people has improved, the issue of Artsakh has been resolved. Is Tsarukyan's mandate the most important issue today? If my envisioned country exists, and there are smiles on everyone's faces, I will voluntarily resign," he concluded.
