A Number of Drafted Soldiers' Mothers Find Themselves in the Defendant's Chair: ‘Joghout’
According to ‘Joghout’ newspaper, in Armenia, especially mothers are doing everything to exempt their sons from mandatory military service. Now, several individuals, primarily mothers of draftees, have ended up in the defendant’s chair for giving bribes.
Interestingly, although they attempted to bribe in order to free their sons from military service or to transfer them to a more convenient location for subsequent service, they ultimately became victims of fraud. The person to whom they gave these sums of money embezzled them without fulfilling the promise.
It is noted that the amount of bribes has ranged from $2,500 to $8,000. What decision the court will make remains to be seen. In the meantime, we await developments in these cases.
