Video: Global Road Safety Week Kicks Off, Arsen Torosyan

Global Road Safety Week has begun. This was announced by Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan on his Facebook page.

The minister also shared a video in his post.

It is noteworthy that on May 6, 2019, the Armenian office of the World Health Organization (WHO) launched the fifth Global Road Safety Week under the UN framework. The slogan for the week, observed from May 6 to 12, is "Speak Up and Save Lives," focusing on road safety leadership.

As part of the Global Road Safety Week, the WHO Armenian office is organizing a series of events in collaboration with UN sister agencies, the Ministry of Health of Armenia, and other key stakeholders. This includes a press conference, a presentation of WHO's Save LIVES technical package aimed at supporting policymakers and practitioners in significantly reducing the number of road traffic casualties, and a seatbelt usage test with high-ranking officials through a real simulation. Additionally, there will be educational awareness activities with students from regional schools, and a flash mob involving youth in Yerevan.

Several events will also take place in Gyumri, including bicycle flash mobs and workshops with teenagers, young people, and school children.
