VIDEO: Company Linked to Hovik Abrahamyan Dismantles Citizen-Founded Garden

Today, representatives of the company "Artashat City," linked to former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, are leveling the trees on the plot of land at 2/15 Shiraz Street in Yerevan with excavators. This was reported by Hetq.

The publication states:

"Hetq had previously reported that the plot had been cultivated for years by citizen Samvel Mkrtchyan, but he recently learned that it had been purchased by Abrahamyan's relative, Gagik Poghosyan.

On the 7000 square meter plot owned by "Artashat City," Samvel Mkrtchyan had established a garden on 4000 square meters; initially, he leased the plot from the municipality. Based on a request from the company representatives, police officers arrived at the site to maintain public order.

Representing Mkrtchyan's interests, lawyer Anahit Asatryan informed us that they have filed a lawsuit challenging the mayor's decision made in 2010 to sell the plot at auction. In the meantime, about ten trees have been uprooted. Samvel Mkrtchyan also stated that if his garden is destroyed, he will self-immolate in front of the government.
