Prime Minister Visits National Polytechnic University of Armenia
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, accompanied by Minister of Education and Science Araik Harutyunyan, Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies Hakob Arshakyan, and other officials, visited the National Polytechnic University of Armenia. Together with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the university, Hovik Musayelyan, Rector Vostanik Marukhyan, Vice-Rector and Head of the Admissions Committee Gor Vardanyan, as well as several staff members, the Prime Minister attended the opening of the "Center for Organizing the Admission Process" equipped with modern solutions at the National Polytechnic University of Armenia.
The center is equipped with a queue management system and electronic terminals, aiming to automate the admission process for applicants to the Polytechnic. This system has been implemented first among universities with the support of the "Ucom" company.
The Prime Minister also visited several laboratories of the university. First, he toured the Armenian National Engineering Laboratories, visiting the Research Laboratories of Robotics, Telecommunications, Embedded Systems, Precision Measurements, and Data Collection and Measurement. Staff member Azatuhi Ulikians presented modern laboratory equipment in the fields of robotics, communication, and telecommunications to the Prime Minister. It was noted that the main goal of the laboratories is to meet the demand for qualified specialists and graduates with technical education that corresponds to the modern requirements in the engineering field.
Additionally, the aim is to address the shortage of employees in companies operating in Armenia's high-tech sector and to promote the development of innovative business activities, thereby enhancing the international competitiveness of Armenian companies. The challenges for the Armenian National Polytechnic University are to strengthen its educational capabilities and expand the potential for conducting research through the improvement and modernization of educational and research laboratories in line with global standards.
