Billion-Dollar Misappropriation Involving Former Prime Minister

The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports that the State Revenue Committee has been conducting inspections in the water usage sector for a considerable time. Recently, the acting head of the Committee, Arghishti Kyaramyan, announced that 'the studies in the water sector have yielded positive results, leading to the initiation of two criminal cases.'

According to our sources, a case has not yet been initiated; however, materials have been sent to law enforcement agencies. One of these cases concerns former Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan, as inspections revealed that his wine-conyac factory has been using water for years without paying for it, amounting to approximately 2 billion drams based on preliminary calculations.

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a statement in March during a discussion on the government program in the National Assembly regarding user associations, saying that inspections would be conducted at all Water Supply Companies soon. 'Let us clarify who has stolen, and then do not say that you are throwing everyone from the water using associations into prison. What kind of habit is this—sitting in place, looting, eating, and then coming to say they haven't received salaries? The most looted sector, we will follow this one by one,' he stated.
