Large Fire at Factory on Arshakunyats Avenue, Citizens Evacuated
On May 2 at 23:27, the Emergency Service received a call reporting a fire at a factory located at 38/1 Arshakunyats Avenue in Yerevan. There was smoke on the third floor, and citizens were inside.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene with a complexity level of “number 2,” including a response team from the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and six firefighting units. One unit returned due to the diminishing necessity.
It was determined that the fire originated in the basement of an open joint-stock company located at 39/3 Arshakunyats Avenue.
Rescuers facilitated the evacuation of three individuals from the third-floor area using a ladder: A.S. (born 1995), M. (born 1966), and B.P. (born 1991). All three were unharmed.
The fire was contained by 23:39 and extinguished by 23:53.
In the basement (approximately 20 sq. meters), household waste (around 4 cubic meters) was burned.
