Gevorg Papoyan Denies Connection with OEK

Gevorg Papoyan, a member of the National Assembly, has categorically denied any association with the OEK party. He stated on his Facebook page that he turned 18 in 2005, and therefore could not have been a party member before that year.

“In the context of the smear campaign against me, one of the “innocently” structured publications managed by a 'single center' wrote that 'according to their information, I was a member of OEK in 2004-2005.' I not only deny any connection with OEK, but I would also like to point out that I turned 18 in 2005, and therefore could not have been a party member before that,” the MP wrote.

It should be noted that the newspaper “Pats” recently reported that it became known that Gevorg Papoyan, a lawmaker from the “My Step” faction, had been a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA). He himself did not deny this information, justifying it by claiming that his membership was “fictitious.”

However, Papoyan's political past seems to extend beyond that. According to news circulating on social media, he was also a member of the “Orinats Yerkir” party during the years 2004-2006.
