The Adventures of the Ararat Governor Continue
According to the newspaper '168 Hours', Ararat Governor Garik Sargsyan (nicknamed Crocodile) has created yet another opportunity to shine in the media landscape. 168.am learned what methods the governor has employed to rid himself of staff appointed by Aramayis Grigoryan and other governors.
However, the most amusing incident, as per our source, occurred in March. Garik Sargsyan punished the head of the governor's staff for responding to his letter one minute late: he summoned him and said, 'I don’t want to work with you anymore, leave.' This was at a time when the 'Mulberry' electronic management system employed in the state system allows responses to letters within 24 hours.
Head of the staff, Arman Dermoyan, sought clarification and a written justification from the governor to understand the sequence of his actions. The boastful governor was unable to explain to the person demanding accountability what 'crime' there was in responding one minute late to him. In this deadlock, the other staff members of the governor's office came to the aid of their 'chief,' suggesting that he should initiate a service investigation to teach him a lesson about what it means to communicate with the chief in legal terms.
For weeks, without clear status, Dermoyan was reportedly coming and going from the governor's office until the service investigation concluded. Arman Dermoyan continues to serve as the head of the governor's staff and has had the status of temporary acting (T/A) since last year.
Interestingly, there’s a separate topic regarding the conditions of his non-appointment to this position.
There is an intriguing backstory as to why Dermoyan is being kept in his current status for an extended period. The governor's advisor, Lilit Mirzakhanyan, who, according to employees, effectively performs the functions of the head of staff, has sought to achieve desirable high positions but has issues with her experience.
The revolutionary governor views her solely in the position of head of staff and assigns her tasks accordingly, but Mirzakhanyan, based on the requirements of the civil service law, has to wait longer.
It is worth noting that Garik Sargsyan has distributed positions at the governor's office to many of his relatives, even appointing his cousin as deputy. One of those fortunate relatives is Lilit Mirzakhanyan.
Lilit Mirzakhanyan is the daughter-in-law of the governor’s aunt, and it is said that her other advantage is the exclusive powers granted to her by the governor that benefit both the governor's office staff and relatives, although the reasons remain undisclosed.
It should be mentioned that Garik Sargsyan, who rose immediately from the village chief of Nor Life to the governor's position after the revolution, has benefited many times from the goodwill of his family godfather, Nikol Pashinyan. Several scandalous stories have been overlooked, including a notorious incident during Pashinyan's campaign regarding the well-known issues of '40,000 hectares of land irrigated by drip systems.'
Nikol Pashinyan has repeatedly stated that instead of being ashamed of Garik Sargsyan, he is proud of him, as he was the only candidate to defeat the regime of the previous government. Today, Pashinyan admires Garik Sargsyan, who brought 22,000 votes to the party, hence it turns out that the leader of the ruling 'Civil Contract' party admires his fellow member, whereas the head of the executive should take pride in the work ethic of his appointed governor.
