Russian Border Guards Create Artificial Queue at Lars Checkpoint

During the May holidays, tourists arriving from Russia to Armenia encountered an unpleasant surprise at the Lars checkpoint. Recently, Russian border guards created an artificial queue that reached a length of 9 kilometers.

Our fellow citizens, who had reached Lars from Moscow in just 12 hours, found themselves stuck at the checkpoint for about 16 hours. They reported that some lanes for vehicles were closed, contributing to the enormous queue.

There are no food stalls or restrooms in the area. Elderly people are deteriorating in their vehicles, and there is no medical assistance. While our citizens and guests are suffering at the border, we are hosting Russian Prime Minister Medvedev and referring to him as our "most precious" guest, sending troops to Syria as instructed by the Russians, and damaging our relations with the world,” the newspaper remarks.
