Minister of Environment to Sue Founder of 'Jambo' Exotic Park
The Minister of Environment, Erik Grigoryan, is preparing to file a lawsuit against the founder of the 'Jambo' exotic park, Artyom Vardanyan. On his Facebook page, the minister stated:
“Dear colleagues, yesterday a public statement made by Artyom Vardanyan, the founder of the 'Jambo' exotic park, circulated through mass media, claiming that 'the director of the zoo is sponsored by the Minister of Environment, and they have a business together.'
This statement has no relation to reality.
I have always respectfully responded to criticism, recognizing the importance of freedom of speech. However, the statement by the mentioned individual is neither criticism nor evaluative judgment, but rather slander, which attempts to tarnish my work and reputation.
For this reason, I have decided to address the court through the legally established procedure, demanding public refutation and compensation for damages.
Details regarding this matter will be shared by my lawyers in defense of my interests.
I am no longer willing to tolerate lies, fake news, and slander. I want to inform you that from now on, any similar display will receive a response in the legal realm.”
It is worth mentioning that yesterday, during the opening of the zoo's season, Artyom Vardanyan, who keeps animals in his private facility, demanded the resignation of the zoo's director, Ruben Khachatryan, amid a protest action.
